How We Rate Providers

Our expert team researches and analyzes the key features within each product category that influence buying decisions. We rate each feature on a scale of 1 to 10, calculate a weighted average of those expert scores, and combine that with brand reputation and consumer-sentiment inputs to produce the final rating.

Brand Demand Index (BDI)

Measures relative brand demand by analyzing the share of user clickouts each listed brand receives on Healthaccess.com over a recent period and comparing it with other brands in the same category, with additional benchmarking against category search-volume data where available.

Advertising disclosure: Healthaccess.com accepts advertising compensation from companies, which may influence placement and, in some cases, may affect the Brand Demand Index.

Consumer Sentiment Score (CSS)

Measures brand reputation by benchmarking user engagement and available consumer-sentiment signals to evaluate credibility, customer satisfaction and overall consumer trust.

If a brand does not have sufficient sentiment data, the overall rating may be calculated using the available Brand Demand Index and Editorial Evaluation Score.

Editorial Evaluation Score (EES)

Represents a structured assessment conducted by the Healthaccess.com editorial team, evaluating factors relevant to each product or service. Brands are scored using a standardized framework tailored to the category.

Final Scoring

Each provider's final score combines the available components into a weighted rating. Consumer sentiment carries the largest weight when sufficient data exists, while brand demand and editorial evaluation contribute to the remaining score.

Important: Rankings and “top” picks can be influenced by referral compensation. Ratings are editorial comparison tools and are not guarantees of performance, safety, suitability or medical outcomes.
